40º outside right now and heading into the 30's overnight which is where we are to be tomorrow. Started a small fire back up at about 7:30 after dropping the cat shield for the first time this year, other than a very very minimal amount of fly ash she looked good. Burn baby burn......now if somebody would send me some snow instead of this whimpy weather I'd be happier than a pig in sh_t
We're at 51 tonight with some winds, I have a load going in the Liberty just because it's so damp out.
Got about 10" of the white stuff yesterday into this morning. Made it up to 26° today. At our low of 6° right now...... I suspect it will get a little cooler. Full load of oak in the stove keeping the house at 72°! Temps in the upper 20s to near freezing through the weekend.
The lake is open: if it doesn't freeze over again, we'll have had all of two weeks of ice in the lake. Some pretty heavy rain, and the ground is sloppy. Nice big rumbling in the middle of the night: felt like a bear in the basement. The dog went crazy. I'm sure you all know what I saw when I took him for a walk this morning..... Supposed to be 5 F Saturday night.....
29 Coal and oak Been a pretty easy winter but I'm starting to get tired of it. Seed catalogs in the mailbox isnt helping either.
Dropped to -3 overnight. A cool morning to shovel everything. Re-kindled the el dorado before I shoveled. Basement at a comfortable 65.
Been very mild. 50 and 60 at night been getting away with a smouldering load once a day of walnut to keep us around 71 in house.
I would hope that my cat is still working and cleaning most of the creosote up. Especially since the Cat probe still was in what is considered the active zone.
We had 35 this morning, I never started a fire until after lunch. We'll be heading to 19 degrees tonight so I'll fill the Liberty with some Beech.
Heading down to the upper 20's tonight with a few inches of snow expected possibly. Hickory and maple on the menu tonight.
the temp is in the 30s right now and it has been cold all day. looks to be a good night to turn some maple into ash! stay warm my friends.
While watching the local evening news (rarely will I do this) it was postd that our overnight low was -11...not -3! Thought it felt cold while I was shoveling!!
