It's been teetering back and forth between 11º and 15º outside here. Just loaded with locust and hard maple. Upstairs living room is 74 and back bedroom 68. Don't know what the stove room is but it feels right cozy, I tell ya.

LOL. Now that is putting out some good heat Woodlands!

It is -8 on the back porch this morning with a wind blowing. I have a feeling it is probably a cold wind.

It warmed up this morning, 8.6 above. The Midwest looks like it will get hit the hardest with the next Artic Cold Wave.

The basement temp was 83 this morning, looks like we'll give the pellet stove a break.

70 in the living room & 69 in the bedroom .

Got down to -7'F here last night, it's sitting at +4'F at 8:45AM this morning, and going to have a warming spell. Could be in the 50's here with rain on Monday. Nutz friggin weather!

The Fv is doing a great job, I woke up last night like 2AM and decided to go down to the living room to check the outside temp and the stove, since the prediction for my area was possible of down to -20. The temp was -7F and the full box in the stove was just slightly glowing. I looked up into the CAT and she was glowing bright orange and the stove top temp was sweet 525'F. I think the real cold just set up a perfect burn for me.

Came down this morning to a nice big bed of coals, that I actually had to burn down a bit before I reloaded. Burning ~18 month old oak, with some ash mixed in.

I actually enjoy this cold as there is no bitter wind to go with it. But these crazy fluctuations are not going to work with my ski plans.

This cold is insane. It got hot today, 18 F, getting warmer sunday and Monday, but with freezing rain, Tuesday, freezing with -25 wcf. Trying to keep these coals down, but losing that battle. The secret tricks just aren't working...
