I like big splits. But I need to make some smaller stuff for next year to cram a few more splits in for these butt cold nights.

19 out right now. Refilled at 5:45 with Ash and Pine. Not enough of a coal bed to put any pellets in. Boiler did well over night.

I'd guess we've gotten about another 7-8" of snow since the first 9. :) :headbang:
Real light snow right now. Looks like it's been doing that all night. I'm gonna' need to roof rake again, and shovel......:headbang:I don't know about your GB area, but they're calling for us to get 4-8" more from this afternoon to tomorrow afternoon. Oh Joy. Look like this next system is coming down from the UP and headed straight for us.
Made it down to 10 last night and the house dropped to 64 again. The stove room is comfy, but the rest of the house is still losing heat. I can tell by the icicles on the eaves, and the cool house.:sherlock: No DV heater last night. The bedroom was 57 this morning. I like it cool, but that's gettin' redonkulous.

It's 16 degrees this morning, time to start another fire, put the plow on the truck, cut some wood and start the sleds again.

Currently 20°F, loaded the stove this morning with oak and hickory. A little sleet and snow later, winds died down for now.

Sorry clem.......it's a direct vent nat. gas fired wall heater. Intake and exhaust through the wall....pipe inside a pipe.
It's a small one at about 12,000 btus, but does a nice job on low keeping the other end of the house warm when we get a real cold snap.
I'll be turning it on the next 2 nights, as it takes too long to recover from the heat loss if I don't.

Yea heat loss got me last night air cut too low and I shut our side of house off to keep my son warmer. He was 67 and the other side was 62 and we shut our door and used a small cube electric space heater in our bedroom which is farthest to keep bit about 65 in their. I set it on low. I loaded a big load this mourn but wife had to cut the heat pump on this am to get house up to like 67. She didnt bump it up slowly to let just the heat pump work and used the heat strips !!!! Gasp!

I put 5 Maple splits on a huge bed of coals this morning to get the temp back up, and threw another one on a bit ago to get rid of the coals.
This could take all day..........due to careful planning, I have all day.
    It's 73 in here now.:dex:

You had me guessing too, but I looked back and figured it out.

So, how's it feel to be in my world? I don't think you are anywhere near old enough, but what the hay? Gotta start sometime!
Next up, cooking frozen pizza...with the cardboard!!!!

You're alright in my book!

I don't think it got above zero all day. Even the carpenters left the job site before noon due to the cold. Poor dogs were trying to put up fascia/soffit in that below zero/wind chill stuff.
Yeah, I know. We've all had it worse; just glad to see someone get a break!

Stayed at freezing today with some snow. It snowed hard tonight, and now we have another high wind advisory. Gusts to 50mph dropping to mid teens with a wind chill in the single digits. Loaded the jotul with hickory and oak. Gusting something fierce out there as I type........:fart:

Made it to 7° today, -5° right now headed for -10° for the low. Going to be 17° tomorrow and 28° for Thursday! :DThen back down to single digit highs and lower teens below zero for the weekend into early next week....:( always nasty cold when I can/want to be outside.:headbang:

Oh and more red oak will be tossed into the stove 3 times a day. 6:15am, 5:15-5:30pm (small load after work), and 9:30pm.
