Right at freezing this morning, so I adjusted the coals and added 3 Maple splits. Warmed the house, and we're still working on that heat about 6 hours later. It's up to about 36 now. Supposed to get some sun, so I might be able to hold off a little longer before adding wood.
Nah, not really. My back has been so messed up I missed the last 4 weeks of bow season. I will be out on Saturday with my bow though.
28 degrees out right now got the drolet tundra loaded with some ash chunks, and the house is a toasty 75 degrees
9 outside...slipped a bit, got all the way down to 66. Put some elm and maple on. Probably last cold front for a while.
Right at 32-ish on the back porch. Just caught the boiler with a few embers left. Insert large Pine splits and we are off to the heating races. The fan on the boiler draws air through and makes re-starts real easy.
Sitting at 27 degrees, clear with a heavy frost this morning. Loaded the stove about 9pm last night, still putting out some heat this morning. Stove still had lots of hot coals. I just added a couple White Oak and Cherry splits, right now house is about 71 degrees. Stove is starting to crank back up.
34 out and 75 in this morning.....supposed to see mid 40's today so I want do much more than about 3 pieces for the day burn.
33 with fog and 92% humidity. Feels a lot colder than it really is outside. At least it isn't windy too. Still running on last night's load of oak, maple, and hickory. Lit a fire in the shop stove with a bunch of scraps from the cut-off bin.
We are still in the 50s here. Which is freakin' weird. My buddy in Phoenix woke up to colder temps than we had. Next weekend we will top out at 58 degrees. I'm not complaining. At all. I've gone through, maybe, a third of a cord of wood so far. Which is 3-5 cords less than usually (we are also using small electric heaters this year to supplement during shoulder season)
Was 25 this morning, but warming up quickly. 48 now and 85 inside with just coals burning down from some small oak splits I added earlier this morning.
