Mid 20's overnight - going to low 30's today and mid 20's again overnight. Kept our cat stove half way full and draft set at 3/4 of the way off. Hit high 80's (about as hot as the Red Wings and Dylan Larkin ... he must have a cat in his engine room) and we had a window open all day. Long range getting warmer til late this week then another week of high 20's average. We'll just suffer and sweat our way through it. Keep smilin' and your stick on the ice.
The significance is that there is no significance. That is simply the number of trophy points possible by default in the xenforo software.
Actually, 113 points is optimum. That's it. Plain and simple. Nothing left after 113. Now back to the thread! It has warmed up to 32 currently.
33 here, and I've been working on burning down a huge bunch of coals in the stove. House is holding at 70. Probably have to do a small-ish fire later this afternoon, then maybe a medium overnighter.
Were holding at 35° but windy. Did the same thing, waited for a coal burndown, emptied the ashpan and just threw in a couple splits of poplar. Upper teens tonight will call for a good load of hickory and oak.
29 here and cloudy. Going above freezing tomorrow and into 50's for Thursday and Friday. Decided to see how hot I could get the Fireview. Loaded 2/3 full with black cherry and silver maple. I think I set a new high temp mark just a bit over 550 as I did smell a bit of the paint curing smell. Will have to wait until it gets colder to try for 600.
Thats not that hard. Load that bad boy with smaller, not 7", black locust splits and watch it hit 750 as it goes nuclear and shortly your stove will melt into a puddle on your hearth.!!
It's about 23 so we're burning some chunks of Cherry with more Sugar Maple branch rounds. We're still burning what was stacked in the shoulder season area so the "GOODER" wood is just around the corner.
about 26 with 20 MPH winds from the north.. Still burning popular.. I got cords of Ash and Sugar Maple ready house is 80 but still haven't burned a cord yet
Sadly, I don't have any black locust in my stacks . Once the temps get low and I get into some of my white and red oak, I should be able to get above 600.
Sitting at 23° with some sweet smelling hickory in the stove. Dialing down as we speak getting ready for Stay warm all!
Bout ready to load up for the night. My previous prediction seems to have held true. We're down to about 67 or so right now. Time to make da fire.
First full load of the year tonight, down to 23 and going lower, another cold day tomorrow and cold night before a brief warm up. Not long before we're running full loads 24/7. I'm burning some ash and maple, saving the high btu stuff for the dead of winter.
Never dropped to the teens, but we hit some low 20's and woke up to a warm house. Reloaded this morning with some oak and poplar.
