Yeah, we have it for short bursts, November through April. But not always.

 

34 right now, filled it up before going to work at 5:30 temp is 73 inside right now, set up the honeywell app on my phone so I can check the temp whenever and where ever I am .

 

That would not be good for me. I would panic when away and I saw my temps dip below the threshold I wanted!!

 

Do you have the App that shows what the dog and cat do while your gone.

 

We have no threshold, it just is what it is. Usually with the deep coals in the Vermont Castings, she'll throw heat for 12 hours. We come home and fire that baby right up.

 

Oh I can get heat for 24 hours and start from coals as much as 36 hours plus from a reload. But remember without much insulation heat and useable heat are two different things. I can have a fat thick layer of coals but still be loosening hear in the House

 

I hear ya. It is possible to insulate?

 

If I cut holes every 16"s into the drywall and blow it in.

Thats on the list for one day.

 

We all have lists, my problem is the list gets longer not shorter, I have 9" in the walls, took a lot of work and a big mess back in the 80's. Had to clean everything up before going to bed each night.

 

Best I can hope for is 3.5" I have r19 in the ceilings. The part in attic with floor will stay that way as I am not putting false rafters up there to fill with insulation just to refloor up there. The parts without floor will get more.

I have already rolled r30 unfaced over it in my bedroom. I had more for the ceiling in the upstairs over stove room. Plans in life changed and the rolls have been in attic three years. The last two I been meaning to roll them out over my sons room and spare bedroom. Just havent got around to it.

 

I have gutters in the garage I bought at Home Depot 20 years ago that I still haven't put up. It's too hot, it's too cold, Hey I'm on vacation, I'm going to camp. That's how that works.
