It's about 30 headed down to 17 so I just loaded the Liberty with Cherry,Blue Beech and some smaller rounds of Sugar Maple.
24 about 6:45, 67 in the kitchen. Adjusted the huge bed of coals and put in 5 splits of Maple. Stove's rolling at 550, with the air way down and the blower turned up a little. Should warm up in a while.
30F right now. Loaded black walnut and a few oak splits last night. All oak this mourn. Air cut down to about 40% 70/68 in bedrooms last night stove room about 78. Was out of town this weekend and it takes awhile to heat everything up here in my house while fighting heat loss. Without insulation it takes me a good 8-12 hours usually to overcome the large heat sink of this uninsulated house.
Hit 27° overnight, windy, so this made things cool this morning. Wont get out of the 40's today, dipping into the teens tonight. Oak hickory and maple on the menu tonight
30 at 6AM, fire going now, maple and hickory warming things up nice. Really nice sunny morn, going to take advantage of the sun.
Yeah, but we got insulation. I sure I'll be envious of you when your around 20, and we're at 20 below. Brrrrrrr.
Most people here in SC have insulation. Well if their house is newer than 1950. My buddy who lives about 15 miles from the coast will text about how they have not used any heat etc. Or turn non AC. They will be 10 degrees warmer but still!!! His wife is afraid of bug noises. I always say why not open a window. It will be like 55 outside and he is running air cause its stuffy!!
