30 here, all quiet on the storm front, cold rain later. Midwest cold is heading this way, plenty of wood on the porch. Looking forward to some good burning, warming the house up now with sugar maple and hickory:fire:

Was supposed to get up to 12"-15" overnight. Thankfully, "they" were wrong! Not even one inch came down. Nice, you can use a broom to just weep it away. BUT....
Dropped down to 8 for a bit of a surprise! No matter, the wind has died down too.

About 9 last nite we had a 15 minute windstorm . No snow or rain just really high winds . I'm guessing a front blew in.
Woke up to a few inches of snow .
Had some ugly longs I'm burning off katty corner in the stove this morning .Some nice 6" cherry rounds for the afternoon .

The midwest cold took my location from a 50ºF high on Friday to a projected 30 today. If you are starting colder than me, hang on to your hat.

Mid 20's tonight, upper 30's tomorrow, then the coldest weather yet tomorrow night, lows in the upper teens! Will start to give the poplar a break and feed the stove oak. Stay cozy folks!

Started the first fire of the season tonight. It's in the low 40's now and will be 31 in the morning. Burning 2 year old Red Oak.

Right where I want to be.
Down to 18 right now, and 70 inside.
I'll be reloading the stove with a mix of Oak and Maple in about 1.5 hours.....right before bed.
    All Maple during the day.
