Here in Western Washington it broke into the thirties for the first time at our house last night. I had better bring in a wheeler of wood to the garage and split up some kindling. We will have a first fire within the next two weeks!
Mid 30's for low temps last night. We already hit our high of 50 for today. Sad to admit but I caved in and made a small wood fire in the furnace.
A few degrees below freezing this morning, but warmed up to a balmy +4 C/bout 38 F, about the best weather for wood getting!
We have had the N.G. furnace running some for the last week or so. Yesterday evening Daughter In-Law sent a photo of their gas fireplace lit which inspired me to get out of the chair and make a wood fire in our insert. Made it nice and toasty inside the house.
I’ll be burning in the evenings for the next week or so. When the sun goes down the poplar lights up.
A few degrees below freezing, but the sun said hello, and we're looking for +10 C/48 ish F for a high. Yard tree ash and saskatoon crud heating the way.
Been in the mid 60's daytime, frost and mid 30's predicted tonight. Frost advisory. We'll let the NG boiler handle the chill. It is finally cool enough to feel like splitting, did about a face cord before dark tonight.
My plan is to have a small fire tonight, then tomorrow morning when it's frosty, I plan on giving the furnace its annual check to make sure it still works.
Still using the AC here. 84 daytime 67 tonight. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
First fire of the season today. Cherry and pallet scraps. Always love the first one when about 10 stink bugs and a few yellow jackets get cooked.
38° going to 61°. Running a small fire of DF lumber cutoffs. First fire of the season, I forgot to dust the top of the stove off, burnt.
41/68 burning dino juice this morning. Heading up onto my roof later to clean the chimney, then I’ll be fully ready for the burning season.
