Min-90's yesterday and upper 80's today. College World Series starts tomorrow so hopefully get some of the standard rain but not looking good for the moment.
Couple days now mid 80's highs, but storms cross through and I catch a cross breeze in the different windows in the house, mid 40's at night so I still need a stove. Turn the pellet stove off or shut down the wood stove early. Fell asleep one morning and woke up to 85 in house
46 this morning. Instead of using the LP during yesterday's high of mid 50's and windy, I made a small fire in the NC-30 that is in the basement. Worked out just fine by using small splits. 2-3 inch small. Also had to begin using the de-humidifier in the basement yesterday.
I put away everything to do with the wood stove today. Wood, tools, etc. Last year it happened on 6/17.
We've been lucky to have a mild spring this year (minus the many weeks of incessant rain). This'll feel pretty brutal from Saturday until next Thursday. But... we're due for a heat wave so grin and bear it I suppose. The pepper plants in the garden are going to love it at least.
Looks like we are in for some great firewood drying weather for a few days. Stupid College World Series, always hot.
