Currently 8. Going down to -4 by 6 AM. Turning in early tonight so I just loaded the boiler full of massive splits of Ash. Dug them out of a pile for tonight. (Hopefully will be our coldest from here on out.) 5 of them are about 24-25” long. 6-7” across. (The depth of the firewood chamber is 26”.) The other splits were about 20”. I put them in the center, more toward the front, to give enough clearance to the air intake. We will see how long it last tonight. Little breeze out there.

You are colder that us right now! We are at 17 F with light snow.
Your summers are so much hotter. I'm kinda glad to see that you do get legit cold weather!

We go to extremes in both directions. A couple of years ago we had highs of 115*F and then lows that winter of -14*F. It’s an adventure.

I can't imagine that. That hottest I've ever seen here is somewhere around 75-80 F - which feels like 1000 degrees to me. The coldest is about -40 F. I literally cannot imagine 115. I might pass away if it hit 115 here.

On those days we’d start work at 5am and quit at 1 pm. I was a diesel mechanic and worked outside on heavy construction equipment. There are times that 2 guys would empty a 5 gallon water can and a gallon or more of Gatorade.

Thanks its a quadrafire pioneer. He got a crack in one of his pads. The other one tore one of her dew claws a few weeks ago and needed surgery just cant catch a break.

34 oak and cherry. Snow at 8am so it’s going to be milk sandwiches for the rest of the week.

That full load of Ash made it until 4:30AM.

Nice sleeping temps.................unless the dogs think it's time to go out (over an hour ago). They have no problems falling back asleep.

    Still better than the alternative!

15 here this morning. Have been throwing big nasty chunks of mostly red oak in the owb. Turn the house down to 64 at night and have the heat come on at 5am so by the time we get up and moving, it's 70-72.
