28 Poplar and punky oak Snow forecast for tomorrow has gone from 8” to 2” and I hope it turns out to be a dusting or nothing.
-14/70 Reducing coals for a full reload. A nice large W.Pine split has magically melted the coal pile. Stay warm everybody. Looks like some folks are getting weather they normally don't see.
-9° feels like-29°. Our husky/ cur mix didn't even want to go out this am. She stopped in the door as the cold hit her. Nope I don't blame her. 68° inside. Loaded up with honey locust and a piece of ash.
-10 (feels like -30.....but who's checking!) Hopefully it'll stop snowing today so I can get a good clean up with the plow.
Looks like the same weather as me, except it is still snowing here. Though thee Burmese mountain dog had absolutely no problem going outside just to lay in the snow. Lab mix joined him briefly but not for too long!
Our predicted 1-3” for Thurssday has changed to maybe a dusting. Doesn’t hurt my feelings. 18/72 HL & BL.
The southern cur in her had her think otherwise. She's a total yin / yang. A cold weather dog mixed with a hot dog. Wait. Whatever.
Down to coals in the stove. Hopefully I can swap out stoves today. Nothing like picking out the coldest day of the year to do that! Lol
Something happened this morning that is extremely rare at our house. Temperature inside was 69 degrees. Fear not; the temperature is climbing.
6 degrees outside. The boiler went through a lot of wood last night. Some combination of wind and the garage wanting heat most likely. Loaded in some more ash.
I’m at my high for today at 22*. We’ve got a forecast for 9-12” of snow. I put the plow on for the first time this year. That means we’ll probably get 2” instead of 12” Hopefully. Stay warm and safe. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.
Warmed up 12 degrees so far today, up to 2 right now. Oak in the stove and a nice 72 in the house. Could tell it was chilly last night when the full stove struggled to keep the house temps at 70.
14/72 maple, cherry and ash. White oak and big round of locust on deck for overnight. 5 predicted tonight.
Left the house 12 hours ago with a stove full of red oak. More red oak and a piece of ash. Probably the coolest its been in here for several weeks now.
