They will now come back expecting more. We're seeing flocks of up to 100 or more.

I had a flock of over 100 walk past me late this past deer season. Smoky gray bearded hen in the mix too. Talk about a lot of eyes on the lookout!

Yuuuup. Slept straight through reload time last night! Post race syndrome I suppose.
Boy did I sleep good however.
-17F wind chill now. Heat wave arrives around noon. High of+4F expected.
Then we slide again towards -15F and a WC of -30F to -40F. Boooyaaa. Where is my suntan lotion?

We do finally have hard crunchy snow cover. Almost thought that wasn't going happed this winter..... Kinda cool:thumbs:

Steady 13-15mph winds w gusts near 30. Dew point is 14 degrees f. 68 inside temp. Loaded a big nasty that needed more draft than I gave it. Still 3/4 there after an 11p reload. Have it full throttle now. Burn baby burn.

    6. Says feels like -9. Straight White Ash in the boiler. It is now playing catch up after it burned out last night. I got up at 5:30 and reloaded it after loading it early last night and going to bed.

Haha, I did exactly the same thing for the same reason, with the same results. 25/59. I cleaned ashes out of the insert and started a fire, it is ripping now.

Wait....what? Am I reading this correctly? You're missing the whole concept!

Obviously, something else is going on. But until then...........

8* outside. Supposed to be well below freezing until Sunday. Maybe some snow in between, maybe not.

Boiler still has plenty of wood from last night....I'll load it again this evening with more ash.

My house is very old, built in 1928. There are too many holes in my house to run the woodstove and heat the house when its below 0F and windy. Upstairs temps will drop to the 40s and 50s when burning. Upstairs still has single pane windows from years ago. The wood stove doesn't heat every room in the house. Propane DOES heat the whole house.

17/63. I slept good last night. Just loaded up with white and red oak.

I think my weather person needs to go back to meteorology school. Consistently off both directions on temperature by about 10*. Low last night was supposed to be 25*.

My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.

Wind is finally easing. After work I plan on bringing some BL down for the cold week. (Not the cold some of you are having :shiver:) Wonder if I have any tarps left after the way the Hawk was out last night.
