A balmy 22 degrees here yesterday and today in Wisconsin. Hard maple in the stove and the house was at a steamy 75 degrees, the wife was down to a t-shirt and shorts. Just had to throw another log on for good measure.
22 °F out 76 °F in , The cold is going to be sticking round for a little bit here, not much snow on the ground about 1/2 in
Thank you. I have to keep it clean. If I let it go, it takes over. Plus, I'm retired and have plenty of time to take care of it. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.
14. Mix of Elm, Hard Maple, and Cherry. Came into this stuff in a stack left over from last year. Burning nicely!
27° / 74° stove on the cool down cycle. Put in a split of 2 yr old black birch and some 4 yr old oak chunks...it was 77° earlier...sweet stuff...blue flames
20⁰ with wind chills in single digits. Red oak is burning. When it burns down, more red oak. An occasional piece of red maple that found its way onto the wood rack. Overnight is red oak with a good sized piece of black locust. Lots of coals for quick morning re-lights, 7-8 hrs of burn time.
25, not much wind. Supposed to get well into the single digits the next 3 nights. Loaded the boiler down heavy with ash last night and most of it is still there. Trying to get a good bed of coals for the rest of the week.
