Another beautiful sunset as the skies cleared once again. 11 now which I think will be our overnight low.
Winter has arrived in Oklahoma. 26 headed to 13 tonight. High of 25 tomorrow. 26/71. Red oak and hickory. Stay safe My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.
21. About 5" of fresh powder on the ground with more on the way. Wind really starting to pick up now. Ash in the boiler, and lots of it.
As lukem says. Indiana has a fresh layer. It looks like Popcorn is getting a steady 24 hours of it. Loading up with maple and oak just before bedtime. mid twenties next couple days. My worry was ice causing power to go out but we have been blessed. Prayers to those in Kentucky.
12/62. A little chilly this morning. Just started a fire with red oak & hickory. Waiting on the fan to kick on. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.
3* out/ 62* In. Most of our morning temps for the past week and been in the low single digits. On the menu for today is a blend of Hard Maple, Oak boards that I showed pics of before and some Box Elder for the afternoon/evening when the house is good and warm.
Record snow for here Jan 5-6, 12"+ and still coming down at my place. The entirety of the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area is paralyzed and shut down. Broke the 1977 record for snow fall, and that winter was a doozy. Now the temps are headed down to near zero maybe a bit below. Set the ash aside and firing the stove with white oak, which I've been saving for times like these. I ain't gettin' cold! No sir, ain't doing it!
Lots of snow (for here anyway), 26, and a stout N wind makes it pretty uncomfortable outside. Random species wood stack is gone. Ash from the next couple months then I start into the square wood.
29 with moderate snow coming down. Still burning white oak all morning but have now started mixing in ash.
