48 heading to the mid 50s. Most of yesterday’s snow is gone, save for where I piled it up on the north side of the house. No fire.

    26/65 this morning.

It was windy all night long here. Thankfully, the temps were in the 20's so the wind chill created was only in the mid teens.

More wind today with snow coming a bit later on.

40 out, 70 in. Currently burning red oak and apple (after starting with ash). It's been mild the past few days. Looks like we'll be in the single digits by the weekend and I'll be burning mostly sugar maple and red oak.

Burning black spruce as it has warmed up and raining so no need for the good stuff.

Crazy having rain this time of year but seems to be becoming the norm last few years.

33/75 white oak and mulberry. It's nice to have a fire after not needing one last night.

It’s actually been windy here too for the last couple days. A bit of a rarity in these parts. Kept me, my wife and the dog up all night last night. Pup was convinced there was a bear on the roof and was growling all night

Burning Ponderosa tonight. 74 in the house. 20 degrees outside. Snowing lightly at the moment.

Oh boy fun, not. Especially the dog being anxious, sorry. It woke us up a few times and I was sleeping in the living room by the stove (wind suctions our heat out, long story) and him in the bedroom. Pretty sure a couple mild micro blasts hit us, sound like freight train but rocks the house like like an invisible giant plow hits the house for split second. It's wild! The first one I was standing next to and looking out of the 16' wide sliding glass doors and the 4 triple pane glass flexed! I wanted to duck but it's just all to fast and hard. WILD. I grew up in Boulder with high winds that blew down fences and caused chaos, nothing compared to here.

Holy smokes. That’s nuts. We occasionally get strong winds here, but nothing like that. We have some huge 100+ foot trees surrounding our house. We always stress about them coming down on the roof. Hopefully the wind settles down and we can finally get some sleep:tears:

32 outside. We let the fire go out overnight. Not good when it is under 70 inside.

Our weather has been all out of sorts this whole year (thankfully more mild than usual  ) except seems the microblasts that usually come late Jan and Feb are early this year. Almost no snow, no high winds til recently, nor iceberg blob snowdrifts (yooperdave ). Fingers crossed decent weather rolls right through spring but I won't forget the nice prolonged fall if it doesn't :)
