It was in the 40’s yesterday and today. Burning whatever is not under the end of the wood tarp. A mix of oak, maple, and various hardwoods.

We went out on the lake to get the frozen fox out of the ice. The ice was headed south tonight, and will be rotten by tomorrow. It will take a few days of freezing temps to make it safe again.

    Here are some pics

Not likely. It has been in the water for over a week, maybe two. The coat looks a bit rough right now, but we will get the ice off tomorrow and see. I figured it would make an awesome mount if we replaced the ice with resin in an attempt to replicate how it looked when we found it. That all depends on the hide.

My wife wants the bones, so the carcass will get cleaned off by her friends “the bugs”. She likes to make things with bones, and wants to make a kind of memorial piece for the fox with it’s bones. I’m not sure what exactly she has in mind, but it should be pretty awesome.

    Another very warm night.

Took son and his wife to dinner. We didn't even wear coats. Felt like a spring day.

Some wet heavy snow from yesterday and overnight waiting for attention. I'll be using the plow as it is much to heavy for the shovel. :handshake:

It was warm today. Yesterday too. It's now 39° out. Burning ash, box elder, and Norway maple. 76° inside. Tried the DC blower I got in Amazon and this unit was too tall. It was quiet and would pay for itself in short time, but that model I got was slightly too tall. They make a different model, that is a little over 3/8" shorter and that will probably work. I'll try that one later, but for now I'm returning the one I bought and getting a standard ac powered blower with a rheostat to adjust its speed. I know those standard ones will fit, and I need it with this cold snap we're going to get. Later in winter I'll mess around with the DC one when I buy the different slimmer fan unit one. Then I'll have a backup with the standard blower.

27f this morning with flurries. Made it out to Bunny's and grabbed another tote of older splits consisting of white oak, walnut, and maybe a couple others. Tried a few splits of the oak last night, and let's just say it performed very well.

Last night had a low of 12°f with a high of 42°f, whatever dipped down here has got to be heading your way. Pine has got the oak going.
