12 with no wind this morning. Boiler still has ash from last night, enough to last until this evening.
24 Sunny and clear. Got the stove rolling with sassafras, aspen and cherry earlier this morning, but have since reloaded with some monster splits of white oak. It won’t be getting above freezing here today.
A good man I know was selling some well seasoned Ash firewood for $65/face cord. So, I went over today and bought a full cord from him and an eight foot metal firewood rack. $250. Good deal. I’ll burn this firewood mixed with some of my well seasoned Pine. Give some of my more recently processed stuff even more time to season.
I made it out ice fishing today with temps in the 20’s. No fish, but I did find this poor guy. Looks like he broke through last weekend and couldn’t get out.
30/72 cherry and sycamore going down to 20 overnight, tomorrow they are calling for some blowing snow late day.
Upper 30's tonight/upper 40's tomorrow. Doug Fir splits keeping us warm along with an occasional White oak or Madrone as they come out of the wheelbarrow in the garage. Outside of the house there is rain and storm But here inside we are toasty and warm Tucked in my recliner, my feet propped up My wife nearby with her favorite tea cup The stove casts a glow to the ceiling above While we sit in the quiet blessed with Light and Love
