If I ever had any illusions about swimming in Lake Superior in August, they’ve now been shattered :faint:

Once you try it, you will no longer crave it.

Supposedly down to 51ºF outside here last night. 68ºF inside with windows open. Finally get some colder dryer air.

Speaking of colder air, and FYI, Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially available at Starbucks today.

First fire of the season with lumber cutoffs. 63 out and 70 in. Two days of dank was more than I could take.

I was almost to that point myself this morning. Upper 50s, and the house was about 68 which is just starting to feel raw. If it was raining I probably would've lit a small fire.

    Inside, almost tempting.

My square in the pool for first fire is September 27 this year. Unless I wake up and see my breath in the moonlight I think I can hold out a while.

It was 45 yesterday morning, supposed to hit 88 today. I like the 45 more than the 88.l

Stumpy and I did that last week and for the same reasons...
4 SS logs (shorties) and some kindling, warmed up the main living area, wood stove was warm for a few hours.

Not enough to make bone broth or soup, but that's coming soon enough!

I wasn't sorry we did. Took the chill and drove the moisture out for the morning.
    Everything worked.
