14. Pine, Hard Maple, and Beech mix. Spring is here! I’ll be around enough today so might as well burn up a little Pine.
Had to use the truck, in my case. Oh well, "no big no deal". It was a nice run as I ended up spending 40 cents a gallon less for gas.
I didn't get a chance to post earlier, it was 14/58. Oak doing what it does best. Weather folks saying 17 inches coming tonight and tomorrow.
This morning was 23. I emptied the woodshed and brought down a load of wood. Its the good stuff; box elder, pine and TOH. . Currently sunny, but calling for up to 3" of rain tomorrow, with strong winds later. I rather have the snow!!
The house was 63 when I got home and that’s where I have the heat pump thermostat set at so I said not today satan and fired up a load of white oak. It lit up remarkably well. I had it stacked in a single row for maybe 3 years. I stopped marking dates on stacks after 2020.
52/64 it was in the 60's earlier this afternoon, we were up on the face of the bluff when the temperature started dropping like a rock, the sun went behind the clouds and the wind swung around to the north. Gust to 30mph tonight they are saying and 29 by sunrise. Winter hasn't entirely given up. Walnut and black locust.
40/71 just got a few splits of ash cruising. Raining so no splitting this evening. Freezing rain and snow early tomorrow then clearing so back to splitting.
I am hoping yesterday was winter's last dumping of snow. Yet, I know we typically get more in April. I am going to try not shoving this snow around and I do not need to go anywhere so I'm hoping it will melt soon. I will remove snow blade soon and this is the first winter with no snow tires for quite a while. We just did not need them this year.
