That's what I said until Friday night.

No insert yet, but the fp going from last night, through tonight feels great. 32 now, was about that last night. We had a hard Frost last night, surely again tonight.

I'm burning a mix of ash, sugar maple, and hickory.

Got down to 50 F here threw an assortment of pieces in, for the first good fire of the year... Lastnight, I lit it enough to get the dust bunnies burnt off, while I could open the doors if needed to get that stink out....

    About 3" of snow overnite.
Maple and locust to warm the house up a few degrees. Prolly cherry the rest of the day.

34 this morning - many around me got their first frost yesterday morning. First freeze is coming soon. Burned some chunks and ugly pieces left over from campfire wood, with a bit of white pine. Seasoned red oak is waiting to make an appearance until much colder weather.

Pine, elm, sourwood, cherry, and beech. I should've loaded the stove for an overnight burn. 36 on the porch this morning and 66 in the hallway.
Blower was still running and had enough coals for a relight around 0530, comfy in here now
