Dipped down to 35ºF here last night but the only way I knew was that I woke up in the middle of the night and pulled a blanket over me. Most of the house stayed around 70ºF but my wife likes to have her bedroom window open at night. So far zero artificial heat this fall, but tonight they are predicting a hard freeze.
31 this morning with a high of 45 today then down to mid 20s for tonight. Lit a small fire last night which kept the house at 70, had just enough coals to do a reload this morning. Added an oak chunk, cherry chunk and a couple pieces of boxelder. Should keep the house warm till I get home!
Highs in the low 60's today. Tomorrow... 10 degrees colder, with lows very close to our first frost. Just lit up a fire, trying to keep it above 67 inside.
it's 42 now so threw on some popular uglies living area is 80 bedrooms 65... if it gets too hot I'll Crack a window
34f now and letting lastnites elm burn awhile longer before reloading. Now they are calling for no snow or rain? Good ole weathermen!!
32 on the back porch when I got up this morning. Burning Ash and a little Elm in the boiler. Suppose to be pretty cool the next two nights. Down to 25ish.
34 f here this morning, loading back up with walnut/cherry mix. This combo seems to coal after the burn fairly long, good for shoulders.
Dropped down to the low 30's last night , 43 right now, inside 73 just right for the kids and wife, me relaxing in shorts feels very comfy with a nice cup of Lavazza dark roast and some biscotti
34 I am almost going full tilt! Using any heat? How is your house comfortable? Guess its my lack of insulation but I am rolling at that temp
It's still 70 in the house from the fires yesterday/night. It looks like we'll be burning shoulder season wood into November if they have the long term forecast temps correct.
Lit up for the first time this season tonight. Dipping into the mid 20s here, coldest night so far by a long shot. Silver Maple tonight, don't wanna over do it! Some of you have already seen this pic...
