21/65. Forgot to load the stove last night. Fell asleep. Son asked should I throw some wood on. I said no. I’m getting up to load it but thanks. Next thing in know it’s 4am.

Dropped to 19 overnight; the wind really kicked in around 4:00 this morning. Not too bad now.

Sorry to hear that you're running low on firewood. Maybe next year, you can get a little bit farther ahead on your supply.

What we refer to as a "three year plan" is normally the accepted goal of those who choose to burn; meaning that you should have a minimum of three years CSS firewood before it is used for burning.

I think there just may be a wood burning advice article in the resources section of FHC somewhere.....that could be helpful!

    Keep smiling.

    I can see it already.......

How long does it take to season? Will wood dry if left in log form for 2-3 years? Should I split all pieces right away? Horizontal or vertical? Stack or throw in a pile? Top cover or not?

And on and on and on.

We'll be here for you. :handshake:

27 here this evening. I loaded the Wood Gun with what looked like some Beech, but not sure. Then some Elm and Hard Maple. Should last plenty at this temperature. But going down to 5 by 7am. :loco:

We had been forecast to get a dusting to 1-2” of snow. We received about 7-8”. :picard:Fortunately for us it was the lightest stuff you could ask for. I thought I heard the Suburban laughing while plowing. o_O

I figured I had better turn the radio up. :loco:
