Fall has arrived. Red and Sugar Maples turning color, and the Northern Red Oaks, above, still resisting. Had a fire last night, but it warmed up overnight, and rain expected today.
39 with pockets of frost. Burning red oak, american elm, sassafras stems & pieces. Going out of town for a week just as cooler temps are moving in ... the propane furnace may get a little love .
We had 34 this morning, we had a Hemlock/Pine fire last night so I'll wait until later on before we fire the Liberty back up.
We been having some warm weather here. I'm ready to burn once the wife says I'm cold, no problem babe my pleasure
Currently 38 on the back porch that is not getting any sun. Warming up nicely out front in the strong sun. I am burning some Ash and Elm in the boiler. It's going to take a while to heat up 60 gallons in the boiler and 400 gallons in the big buffer tank! But we are now heating with wood! Now for cleaning the boiler room and basement.
Mid 40's now, heading to mid 50's for a high. Loaded a few splits of oak to take the chill off. Mid 30's overnight and will put in another load later.
Was count to split and stack and cut wood today. But rain Im now and more forecasted all day. Not what the folks in the middle of the state need right now!
Wow. 52 here this morning. Just burning some Ash for a while for DHW. Yesterday was just an awesome weather day.
Domestic Hot Water(DHW). My in-door wood gasification boiler heats my whole house, my attached garage, and all hot water for showers, sinks, dishwasher, etc. This is done by using what is called an in-direct hot water heater. The boiler water never mixes with your potable water. The hot water from the boiler passes into and through a hot water heater that is a tank inside of a tank. This very hot water from wood boiler(180ish) heats the inside tank up and can supply an almost endless supply of hot water for all our needs from cord wood fueled fire!
