Id be surprised if we have gotten 3 " so far. Did loose power for 4 hours as a tree fell on wire. Wasnt even that windy
51 here this morning. Burning 3 small elm rounds and 1 oak split. This is 1.25 setting on Fireview. At these temps a 1.0-1.25 setting gives me some mellow flames. Below 1.0 and its lights out black box ... good for the longer burns but not at all pleasing to my senses. Looking forward to seeing how colder temps impact the air settings; also still have a flue damper to play with ...
The extended 10-day is more like it now. Highs in the 50's/60's and lows in the 30's/40's. Hopefully, no more of that overnight 20's stuff for awhile!
I started a Hemlock fire after dinner, it's the first and the last of the day unless the wife tells me different.
Between Madison and the Dells. I had this screen name on the other site, so glad it wasn't taken here.
Forecast was 37 overnight and we had 34 when I got up. House was still warmish from last nights fire, so I held off until about 11:30. Got a fire going with some Pine, and went to make breakfast for FIL and almost forgot about the stove. It had gotten to 575 and was getting pretty toasty in here. Fan on, air down, and it cooled back down to about 450, then ran there for a while. Still kicking out heat.
That's amazing, it's been upper 50's coldest, and 60's almost 70's in day here on the other side of NY.
Our first killing frost usually comes the last week of September, we haven't had it yet. I don't think we hit 60 today back here in the woods today, I'd take another nice week before a killing frost.
That's amazing, I'd swear you stole those from my chunk bin!! I have the exact same chunks, the one with the knot sticking out at all.... I'm going to burn a bunch of the chunks this fall....
