More wonky warm weather here, sitting at -2C/28F, and looking for 5C/41F for a high today. Insane actually, considering we're rolling up on December. Finally got to the dreadful act of buzzing up all the scrap stubbies, chunks, and uglies in the pile yesterday, so running on poplar, pine, maple, ash, and anything that looks like it will burn!
40/66 and supposed to drop to a southerner killing 19. Oak and Hickory working hard to get it closer to 70.
22f with the wind whipping tonight/ 71 right now just loaded it up . Saw some snow squalls while splitting today not bad
Cutting up some hickory limbs and stuffing the boiler. We have several sub freezing nights coming. My biggest concern is the high winds from the west. Caused our disastrous pipe burst last year.
Going down to 23 here in the south and I'm working overnight until 6am. Can't wait to get home and build a fire!! Planning ash and pine for the warmth.
I’ve got 24/71. Packed the firebox completely full for the first time this season. 2 rounds of chestnut oak, rest was RO.
I loaded the stove before work last night with 2 nice black locust splits (pulled from private reserve stack), 3 fat red oak splits, and 4 ash splits. Hopefully the house won't be at 58 degrees when I get home this morning. I went into work early Monday night, and asked my son to load the stove before he went to sleep, he never did because he fell asleep at 8. I guess I can't be too mad, he just started working 12 hour shifts, 6am to 6pm, 5 days a week, and he looks like a blue collar zombie for the past few days. He is paying his car loan and insurance, his phone bill, and the home internet bill, and even went to buy 200 bucks in groceries for us last week.
21 / 65 just loaded it up so when the kids wake up it’s nice and toasty. Have a great Wednesday and be safe in this crazy world
