-17c/1f this morning but its warmed up to -12c/10f now. I slept in this morning but my wife did a nice full reload of larch/fir so the house is warm and cozy. Its a beautiful sunny day in the Rockies! Not much snow on the ground but its been white for awhile now.
I have 2 of them, wife appropriated the other one as her own. Works for me, sometimes I want more feedback from the stove than just the stovetop thermometer. I use around the house as well. I like it more than others I’ve used.
A Beautiful November day in Muskoka, 2*c a little overcast, ash in the firebox, My wonderful wife has baked bread for us and dinner rolls, and cheesy scallop potato's for a wildgame potluck dinner with friends tonight, It's going to be a great evening!
36° out today. 70° in the stove room, and burning some coals down. Looks like there's all ash in the bin for the next reload.
25*/44* cold stretch (For the PNW) for a few days now. Burning Doug Fir with a few chunks of Cherry and Oak that were hiding in the stacks. House is warm, the Wif is warm and the food is warm. What more could a guy want? Except maybe a glass of Sour Mash! I think I'll get one right now!
Thanks Cash! It has been an excellent stove and kept us warm for many years with zero trouble. Say Hi to your folks for me and tell them I said they raised a fine young man! Not that you are so very young...I'm just so old!
Hey guys, same old story from Sask, wonky weather lol. no snow to speak of really (very odd actually) Sitting around -4 C/ 24 ish F right now, and dropping to -15 C/ 6 F ballpark overnight. Burning pine religiously these days. Have some poplar to buck up, but that stuff won't go bad sitting until spring.
Goes to 26f tonight. 66 inside. Load of ash for the night. This tree was standing dead. I fe lled on Thanksgiving Main trunks for father inlaws sawmill I took some limb wood for stove. Split tonight mc 8 to 10%
High of 20 degrees today. 66 inside, 14 outside currently. We're looking at high of 30s all week and lows in the single digits.
What size door gasket do you use? I have the same stove. On 20 degree days, I'm lucky to get 3 hours before refilling the Ponderosa.
Just factory one, I can take a picture of the part# in the manual for you if you like. You burn a 3cu.ft. fire box in 3 hrs? If your having trouble of this stove running away, you need to block some of the hidden air ports. It took me a year to get this stove under control. Pm me if you want me to show you what I did so we don't clog up this thread
Looks like the cold has settled in for the time being. Currently having some flurries with the driveways starting to cover. Stove has been keeping the furnace from kicking on so far.
25/68 some ash and locust for breakfast. Expecting some rain this afternoon. I’ll cover up the stacks . I usually see the weather for a few days and if it’s nice I’ll take the cover off the top of the racks to let them dry faster. Have a great Sunday FHC and thank the man for another day
30° out and light snow. We're supposed to get an inch or two. 67° in the house, just reloaded with ash, Norway maple, elm, and a small chunk of red oak.
