Been like that here too! Expecting 5" of rain over the next couple of days and then cool off.. Crazy weather!
It's just under 70 here and the rain is splitting off north and south of us. The rain finally arrived.
Hot and humid today 77 waiting for the rain to arrive. The wind is picking up a bit..hopefully get a chance this weekend to get some free wood, time to break in the new saw
They're calling for 36 on Wednesday night with a real feel of 28, we'll be burning some Hemlock tomorrow night.
Dove in the pool after cutting grass this afternoon - it's a brisk 67 gonna cover it up in the next few days We've got a cold front coming later this week with some low 50's in the morning, past week has been upper 70's/low 80's and humid those crisp mornings is when I want to get up and work
Going down to 38 tonight, so I figured I'd beat the rush and have a fire early.......like about 40 minutes ago. A few small pieces of Poplar and a real small piece of the new Ash. It's burning down right now with that go-fer wood in there. I'll set up some Pine later for the night fire. Might need another small one in the morning.
Yowsa, bet that was a shock to your gizard. We closed ours up Sept 9th.......we've had a few days that it would have felt good but we were leaving on a weeks vaca so I just shut er down. Got a little cool down coming end of the week but nothing that looks like a fire yet though, going to get the patio stocked soon though.
This weekend highs will only be in mid 50's here. I've only had 5 fires in my Fireview ... need to make sure I get all the paint cured before it is too cold to open the windows. I think Friday morning will be the day for first fire.
Highs at 60 and lows in the upper 30s to 40. For the next week and a half here. The house has been holding a cofortable temp with solar gain. But it may start slipping with the over night temps. I will flip on the NG furnace if needed. Maybe have a small fire to cure the itch of burning season being so close. Going to Canada fishing next week so hopefully by the time I get back we can start thinking about moving wood!!
Got home from work yesterday and cut some pine. Loaded up the trailer then went inside. Decided to fire up the Optima for real. Had the sitting room up to 80F when Jen got home. Had dinner then sat on the couch with the dog and stared at the fire for 3 hours. He has a bald spot on his nose now where I was scratching while zoned out. He didn't seem to care... Was burning some subpar tamarack and the low hit 27F.
I'm gonna burn the firepit tonight boil some crab, corn & potatoes. bring the TV on the deck and listen to the owls hoot
Getting the break ins done before its too cold is a must yearly. The dust that accumulates on the stove puts off a stink annually best to burn it off early - plus get the pyro urge satisfied
