After a mild fall winter sure came in fast here. Snowed all afternoon and overnight. Will have to post some photos when I get home. Currently -9 C / 16 F. A little more snow in the forecast this afternoon. Burning poplar and apple mix for now. Will mix in lodgepole tonight.
Just hasn't been cold enough here yet. One morning a week or so ago when it rained all weekend+, but it wasn't really cold enough and ended up opening windows. The oil boiler can give up after a few minutes in the morning. Doesn't look like we're going to get enough cold for really nice Fall lleaf color.
Temps in the house was 68 this morning so no fire today. I did get the stove ready to light tomorrow morning. Supposed to be cold this coming weekend.
No fires yet but getting closer and maybe this weekend. Should have enough wood but just not ready to crank it up.
Thanks! Im still trying to figure out all the features on this phones camera 18 months after getting it.
That's about what I figured. I like that temperature so long as it is outside. In the house, that is cold.
40 67 I slept in this morning so I didn’t know if there would be any coals to work with. There was enough to light up the loblolly.
It’s warmed up to 53 and heading to almost 70 later. Currently burning down cherry coals with a chunk of very dry spruce.
No fire yesterday and the wife used the oven to make supper which helped warm the house. 71 inside this morning so no fire again today.
yes mate been shooting a lot, phesants and ducks are in season and keeping the pigeons of the new planted corn.
-10c/14f right now and snowing lightly. I made the house pretty warm last night so didn't do an overnight burn. I'm away this afternoon so the furnace will do the lifting until I get back later this afternoon. I took our little golden puppy Ember for a short walk around the block yesterday. She liked it but had icicles hanging off her and she got cold quick so we went and hung out by the stove. I think she has learned it has value in her world.
Sean good lookin pup. Had a couple Goldens as pups in childhood. Enjoy!! As with the rest of us in New England, not cool enough for fires this week. I'm enjoying taking wood off the stax as it dries from all the rain....filling the shed pulling dry stuff off the top and bringing it in. Word on the street here is that we have a wet and mild winter coming. We'll have cold ones, and hopefully see snow, but till then, there is a retaining wall to build, and tree jobs to do (2 in the waiting, and one to finish from Spring time).
