Dropped to 42 overnight. 45/65 G0oing to have some mild temps for a few days with highs in the 50's; lows in the 40's. Then. on Friday, back to "normal".
Cool start to the day, 28f and beautiful sunny, high is to get to 50f. Every day is a Great day! Enjoy.
4c/39f here with high overcast but dry so far. No fire until a bit later in the day. Ill take the new puppy for a walk soon.
Got the chimney cleaned yesterday. About six cups of creosote out of a 25' chimney. Not to bad for one year of burning. First fire of the season... All oak, stuff that was left in the house over the summer from last season's, last burn. Man, there is nothing like wood heat. The dog was upstairs on the couch. He heard me get the stove going, came downstairs and promptly passed out in front of it. Ah, a Lab's life.
36 burning pine and white oak. I’ll be moving the last of the punky white oak into the basement today. Almost a face cord of loblolly left to burn.
Finally broke into the 30s here for the first time since the late season mid-May frost. House is 60 at the moment. Ash and cherry in the stove.
The Fireview has become the plant stand for all the flowers the wife rescued from the outside landscape and the porch. I can barely see the stove for all the plants and Halloween decorations. I might get the AS downstairs going downstairs, just for fun. Got quite a bit colder than it's been here on the central Massachusetts/New Hampshire border.
Well, you're not kidding, because the temp inside was 54 degrees. First heat of the year today, woodstove won't far behind.
