I here that. But I get to start heating my storage, which in turn heats D.H.W. Nice to stop using oil.
About the same here but still waking up to temps in the upper 60's so no fires needed yet. Amazes me how that is OK now, come Nov/Dec my wife would be throwing a fit with the house in the 60's.
I gutted the house and spray foamed it, but I also bought a wood cook stove for the kitchen ( Third wood stove in the house). I'm worried it won't get cold enough in the house to use it.
Great plan I would love to do it but where to live for those 3 months and spray foam is still close to dollar board foot here... But that's got to keep your heating and cooling costs way down.. keep us updated on how it works for you oh yeah low 40s tonight
I just foamed the rim joists in garage under kitchen. Hope it helps keep the floor from getting so cold!
Only down to 46 on the back porch this morning. Suppose to be a high of 68 today. We have had some beautiful weather the last few weeks. Just burning a little of the black stuff for DHW.
46f half hour ago. Took the splitter down to another farm last night and the rest of the gear will be making its way today to deal with a nice large dead elm. Wont be too much longer and the T5 will be brewing in the mornings.
The 4 am it was 40 out 66 in lit curing fire.. went out back and split for couple hours but ran out of gas.. non ethanol gas store do sent open til 9 what to do hang in with FHC!
At 37 degrees before sunrise this morning. Started a small fire last night. Learned that although I did not shut the bypass when I started the first two fires, when I started the fourth fire I should have checked to see if it was closed. Should not have opened the door so many times. Should not have suggested the wife closed the bypass that caused the smoke cloud throughout the house as I tried to figure out why the fire wasn't catching and burning. Oh my. Someone (me) closed the bypass during the third fire. Sigh.
I just noticed smoke coming from the neighbors chimney, of couse she's 88. It's damp & chilly, I predict this evening is when the wife-o-stat finally kicks on and we start our first fire.
