Its 56 right now and I just have coals in my stove from last night. May throw a piece or two of pine in for the day. Then load up some pine tonight. The cold starts about Monday here thru Thursday. Forecast to be in upper 20s Christmas eve thru Thursday

Not really messy.. I have a dirt driveway and only dust the ice for traction and only where we'd normally walk..

We lost power for about one hour, you could hear the inline breaker blow, sounded like a shot gun.

When I was putting the chains on the rhino, you could see & hear some trees & branches coming down. The ice coming off the big old pines was enough to keep me from getting the wood ash down in the woods for use on the driveway.

Tonight should be a real nasty night. Before I put the chains on the rhino I sharpened some chains, about five minutes after I was done the power went out.

We are at 31 degrees on our Radio Shack special.

Will do Ray. I went over to the country store to pick up a sub after putting the chains on, they ask me if I would deliver two papers to some people on our street, so when I delivered them the one lady gave me some baked ziti.

    You gotta love it.

Temps right around 24 right now. Currently freezing rain. Been doing this off and on all afternoon. Not heavy build up yet. But enough to be one friggin mess. Trees are really starting to sag now. Stay safe man.

Has the snapping of trees started where you are at yet woodlands? I remember in 98 you could stand outside on my back deck and it was a very, very regular sound throughout the woods. Made you cringe to think about how many tree branches my parents were losing at the time. And how much clean up that was going to mean around the trail! o_O
