Currently 65 with about 1.5-2 mile visibility from the Canadian wild fire smoke. Weather guessers are saying the overnight lows next week will not go below 70. Insert dog days of summer comment here.
90's again today. Had some sprinkles here and there while driving around Iowa for the day. Get home and see Omaha had 0.45" much needed rain.
Got to 90 here today, went out and got a fire going in the pit and then helped my wife with a few extra pots since she picked up a few flowers on clearance. 59% humidity so we decided inside in the air was better.
61 this morning (58 for the overnight low) and what a surprise, it's still raining. June was the third rainiest on record for my area and July isn't looking much better. Been raining almost nonstop since the 1st and the extended forecast through the 17th only shows 3 days with no rain. The dehumidifiers have been going just about every day. While I don't really mind the rain, especially after the last few years of moderate drought and increased forest fire threats, a day or two of sun every now and then would be nice for the garden. I was hoping to have some sun to dry out my (covered) three-year old splits before I move them into the woodshed for this next season however, I'm about ready to just move them in wet or not (the shed is very open so there will still plenty of air circulation, plus they're just rainwater-wet, not green wood moisture).
Looks like a little cool down for a while. Had just over an inch Saturday and now some sprinkles last night and this morning. I for one will take it.
56* this morning never checked the temperature last night but we had a fire going last night ( spruce and cedar) while doing fireworks and the kids and women folk sat near it with jackets and blankets. Pretty stiff breeze blowing also. Ridiculously cool for the 4th of July
Turned the air conditioner on already. Usually I don't turn it on until late afternoon but hot yesterday and did not cool much overnight. 72 when I got up. 90's predicted again but cooler tomorrow.
