30 here right now. Boiler fired up. Sun is out strong! From the looks of things it may be the last sunny day for a while.ugh
Same here Gas. Sun is out and looks like a lotta rain next few days. They're talking about ice jams & flooding on the rivers now. Hopefully the ice will move along this year and not cause any damage.
The wife wanted a fire in the Liberty so I have a small one going so it burns down to coals in a couple of hours, I load it up for the overnight burn with some Cherry. It's 45 out, I usually don't have fires when it's this warm but what the boss wants, the boss gets.
We haven't had a fire for over a week. Looks like that's going to change by mid Wednesday. We're looking at lows back down into the mid to upper 30's for the next 4-5 days. Highs only in the upper 50's to low 60's.
Windy damp dreary day, burnin some kinda wood I found out back I don't mind playing with the stove once a day
Still 74 in here. Think I'll let it cool off overnight and light a fire in the AM. We aren't supposed to get too cold tonight. Different story the next few nights after that. Might as well save my splits for tomorrow.... We did have a few hours of partial sun today.
Stove was cold all day got down to 66 in the house, 38 now, low tonight 33, ash and maple rolling in the stove 75 in the house now
69 in here. It was cloudy and rainy out early this morning, so I have just lit a fire. It'll keep the temps up during the day for my tomatoes. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother with a fire today. The sun keeps poking in and out of the clouds. I get hopeful, then it gets dull again. Trash pick up day, so Artan I will walk the trash to the gate, and check for storm damage to the trees after the strong winds yesterday.
Just checked the weather to see what is being forecast re rain today, and noted that the temps for the coming week have been revised...downward. Presently 36 out. For the coming week, starting today, highs and lows: 44-26; 40-26; 40-25; 46-22; 44-26. Over ten degrees colder than last year, for the highs and lows. I heard that we had a terrible season for maple syrup. Maybe the people with tubing will be able to collect again? Sounds like good sap flow temps, doesn't it? Although the trees are well budded. I suspect it is very hard on the trees to remove sap now. Probably (common sense tells me) pretty hard anytime. No way nature intended for us to remove the volumes of sap we remove from the maple trees.
Must have gotten another 3" since then. I know, I know...wildwest and beetlekill are rolling their eyes and laughing while they say "Aw, poor baby!"
The wife put the grub (meal) on the table.....I ate the grub......after I was done she said Y don't you make a fire......I said Y don't U..........a scuffle broke out and thewoodlands was down on the floor, I made a fire in the Liberty!
