Few pieces of white oak this morning. Supposed to get up to mid 40s today. A load in the morning and another before bed should be sufficient with the warm-up.
45 here. Had a small fire this morning to take the chill off. Probably another small fire tonight. Red oak to the rescue. Mike in Okla
Temperature is holding steady at 34 through the overnight. Just a small fire going at the moment. One split of elm, one sugar maple, and one thin split of hickory on top.
37/75. These walnut splits sure do leave the white fluffy ash. Similar to my newspaper discs. Burned the coals down before reloading with 6 splits of chestnut oak.
It was 52 when I went to bed last night so I didn't put a lot on the boiler. It was 26 when I got up and the boiler was empty. I managed to find a few embers and loaded up with some oak and hickory and it's running hard now. Guess I should have looked closer at the forecast but the house is still plenty warm. That's twice this year I mis-judged and let it go out.
25/68. Very bright sunrise today. Like Backwoods Savage said "Looks more like April than February" Heading to low 40's today.
