Yesterday morning it was -2 here when I got up and moving. Today it's 40. Crazy! Have had red oak, ash and sugar maple going all weekend and the house is cozy.
We got to 40 today. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I heard a strange quacking while working outside the barn. Went around the corner to see one of our barn cats stalking a Mallard Duck walking around on our driveway? WTH? Cat kept low trying to stalk him and when he got close enough the duck would fly off to a different spot, and then it repeated. Back a little early or what?
Beautiful day here. Went out and cut up most of the ash from a score but a few pieces were frozen down so left them for later. Split a tote full and then cut up a pile of silver maple. A bit muddy, but good day all around.
28* here now, high today was 32* Oak, Red Maple, & Cherry over the day. Did some much needed porch woodbox refilling.
38/74. Very grateful for an ash pan so I don’t have to push coals and shovel from the firebox! Mix of walnut and rock oak tonight.
Already 37f already. Be stuck inside most of the day wiring a 2-story mansion that a daycare is taking over.
10° this am. Burning ash in the quadrafire. 70° inside this am. I heard the furnace go on for about 5 minutes. It hasn't turned on in several days. It will probably be quiet for a while as it's warming up again.
41 out at 8:30 with a nice rain. It has been really windy today as well. I will look around tomorrow to see if anything came down.
5 here this morning. The Wood Gun ran out of wood early this morning. Loaded back up with a little Pine on bottom and Ash and Elm throughout.
