Little bit of a warm up today. 31 out and 72 inside. High of 37 tomorrow. Been needing to load the furnace 4 times a day to keep up with the cold snap we’ve had this last week, but sounds like that ended today. Heard my weep tile draining into my sump crock in the basement when I was down there earlier, and that doesn’t happen often!
Mid-50's today so was able to get some ice busted up along the curb on the street plus pulled out our old 2004 10HP snowblower and get it started after sitting for 4 years or so. Put gas in and started right up and purrs like a kitten. Have a person going to look at it tomorrow since we don't use it anymore. Changed oil and wait to see. If they don't want to pay our price I'll just run the gas out again and put it away. Always been a good machine. Maybe go out and do some firewood tomorrow and bring in some chunks and we are starting to run low here at the house.
24/73. After burning down some SBH coals, I loaded E/W and got quite a bit of wood in there. I’m imagining this will last well past the 8 he mark.
15/67 with a south wind. 38 degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. Lumber cutoffs burning down coals
36F/67F ... Some Oak and Hedge getting the house back up.... I thought about reloading last night but it was still 75 when I went to bed...
I was hoping we would get some of that warmth Chvymn99 spoke of but not so lucky here. Still, it is 37 this morning and 40's predicted Tuesday thru Thursday. That should feel good and make the wood pile last longer.
36ºF degrees already this AM at7:30 Birds singing outside. LOL, they weren't singing yesterday !!! One short pine fire might do it for this morning.
28* outside and 52* inside. I needed to clean out stove so let the fire go out overnight. Burning some oil to warm kitchen up while I make breakfast. Oak/ pine for a restart.
52? I would gladly slide the coals to one side and then the other while cleaning out ashes to avoid 52 inside.
