It's one of those days where we already hit the high temp. Wind and snow on the way; shovels and plow is ready!

23* burning a mix of river birch, elm, hackberry, and a bit of mystery wood.
Snowed all day yesterday and into the night, I’m guessing 16”. Not sure what the “official” total will be but this is the 4th significant snow storm this winter and by far the most winter we’ve had in decades. We’re gonna have snow piles around until April
The last snow event official total was 18” and people in their mid 20s saying they have never seen that much snow at one time

More nice weather, even better than the previous days. About -7 C/ 18 F for the day, and perfect for hotdogs over a fire tonight. Nasty pine chunkies for breakfast.

We got about 5 inches of snow. Elm keeping the house warm. I will break out the snow blower after lunch today when the snow has mostly stopped. It is nice not having to go out on a day like this.:thumbs:

32/62. Dog was ready to head out through the woods for the afternoon sniff session when i opened the door. Sleet and freezing rain started at 3pm transitioned to snow half way through the walk. 3 arm loads of mostly W.B. from the shed, two milk bones, and a couple of embers stirred up from the ashes......30/70

It's been boring weather here lately, so that's why I had no updates in a while here.

    36° rain/ 73° inside, ash in quadrafire.

More ash tonight. Tomorrow, the next day, and when there's enough coals built up, some catalpa to burn down the ash coals.

Next year will be a lot more interesting with wood variety.

50/71 just started the stove back up, didn't load this morning. Heading to 30 tonight and back to more seasonable temps for at least a week. Burning cherry and american elm.

You might want to skip Ribeyes and porterhouse then, and just go with tenderloin or strip steaks on beef.

36/70 got some ash and cherry burning.

Mild temps and Rain most of the day. Been like that all week. Supposed to get a bit colder and a dusting of snow tomorrow. I do wish we had some more snow for winter activities but been nice not blowing, shoveling and feeding stove constantly. Feel like I’ve been on cruise control with the stove though. Full load in the morning, few splits after work and then full load before bed, been the MO Al week.

I get to clean up the snow today! I punched a couple neighbors driveways open from the warm slush crap we had on Mon/Tue. They aren't here full time. If that stuff hadn't been removed, they would have a nice ice snowbank until the next warm spell.....
