34/72 Put 2 pieces of pine on the coals this morning and opened the draft. Then 2 splits of oak before I left and closed up air flow. Hopefully they'll be enough coals to restart when I get home but I'm having doubts.
Yet another day of moderate temps, within a few degrees of -10 C/14 F all day and overnight. Approx 1 more week until cooler temps roll in, and grouchy saskwoodburner returns. Pine chunkies in the reactor.
Did not reload this morning as it went to mid 50s today. I will start a fire before bed tonight, 35 overnight and 37 for a high tomorrow. Got some cherry and american elm ready for overnight.
Pretty much bottomed out here at around 40. I have a small load of sugar and red maple on duty tonight.
Around 28 and slippery out there. Just loaded Spruce, Maple, and Ash in the Wood Gun. School delayed 2 hours for the wife, not my daughter.
Looks like you were burning mulberry. I let the fire go out this AM. Headed to 50 and it was 77 inside when I woke. Wife had opened the draft a bit too far when she left.
Burning mostly elm today and we are forecast to get between 4-8 inches of the white stuff tonight into tomorrow. Winter storm warning out for here until 6PM on Thursday.
19. Wood Gun still hot enough from last night’s load of Ash, Beech, Maple. Will be adding the same in for the day.
