Our garbage weather disappeared a few days ago. Still too much wind, but for the most part we're in this -20 C /-4? F at night, -15 C/ 6? F daytime trend for about a week. Sure can't complain. Pine and more pine on the menu.
Not sure the high for today, but currently 42f out. Brought up 3 loads to fill my inside rack, but slowing down some on burning due to the nice weather. Mid-30's next week and I will be out of town so I may tell everyone to just let the stove go cold for the week and save a little wood. Yes, I'm spoiled having NG to supplement the stove.
It was into the 30's here yesterday. I had the house up to 73 and it wasn't enjoyable. Let the fire go out overnight and found the indoor temp to be 68 this morning. 30 outside now with freezing rain expected. This will make the third time this week if the power goes out! Time for a standby generator???
36 and climbing up another 10 degrees today. Just a small black locust fire for now, which I’ll probably let burn down. My burning for the next few days will be relegated to small morning/evening fires.
It's 50⁰ outside! I'm keeping shoulder wood handy for when I relight the stove, later this afternoon. Oak for the overnight.
Currently 10 F degrees here. We got 18" of snow last night. Spent the day plowing snow and pulling my neighbors out. Good times. Currently burning my usual Douglas Fir. 76 F degrees inside. View off the back deck this morning. View off the front porch this morning.
I have 35/68. Let the fire go out yesterday. Expecting 50 degree temps again today. Burning a few pieces of pine to get going and one split of oak.
36/65. Let the fire go out overnight, house got a little chilly. Temps going to mid 50s. Burning oak. Would burn SS wood but I have that buried in the shed for spring. Cash, your views may be some of the best on the forum! You look out and see mountains, I look out and see a yard that has been torn to hell by my dogs playing.
54F at 6:00 am and rain. The mud is here and snow is gone. This is stupid. Threw some random stuff in the boiler. Headed to Indiana to visit relatives. Won't have to worry about roads at least.
