I just checked the weather channel online, they have it snowing here, what a crock, nothing but freezing rain.

Gasifier, go with your gut feeling on the trails, people will do what they want (trespassing) even if you don't put one in.

I'm back there a lot so I think that helps, people see me going in so I think that helps keep them off. The thing I like about our property is we have trails to every hill or boundary, so don't hesitate on putting it in.

Just got up and they are still calling for up to 40mm=1.57 inch of freezing rain

Weird stuff lastnight as when me and Emma went for a run on the farm it was -4c but with straight rain?
Then got back to the house -6c and it started to pelt the windows?

Where the heck was the snow?

I see areas north of us have the warning on, we still have an advisory.

Two weather sites call for a trace of ice for this area, AccuWeather is still calling for over an inch of ice for this area.

    Stay Safe

The first fire is throwing some nice heat and the coffee taste great.

We got some freezing stuff here overnight last night. Not much, but a little on top of the snow and sleet we got. I'm going to go out and plow soon. Try to get things cleaned up. I hope we don't get that much ice. Too much of a pain in the azz!

Not alot can be done about it zap so we'll just hafta wait and see what happens

Good dry wood in the house and carport, set the honda up and a couple tanks of gas, gonna take the tractor up to the roads dept and grab a load of sand/salt for here and my buddy across the road.

Bunch of us are on standby for work just in case and quite a few of them live in town so i should be good to go out here at the house

Back in the 98 ice storm all i did for a week was deal with the diesel generators at the stations and thats about all that can be done this weekend if the power go's out ;)

You're correct Loon, can't do chit about it. The vehicles are covered with ice, they had called for 3-6 inches of snow earlier, that never happened.

Our temps did jump from 25 this morning at 5 to 30 degrees at the moment. When I was outside you could hear some of the trees cracking, tonight is supposed to be when the worst hits.

If AccuWeather is correct, we'll get 0.31 inches of ice today, 0.83 tonight and another .25 of ice tomorrow & tomorrow night.

Does that mean wide spread power outages? I remember the bad one in the Adirondacks maybe 20 years ago.

Probably. If we get that much ice, yes. I'm hoping we don't. But I have the generator all set with plenty of fuel. Started yesterday and were good to go!

I plowed the driveway yesterday because they called for 3-6 inches of snow, it never happened so we have a skating rink!

Weather reports; one site will take the temps from the Massena Airport (colder) and the other will take it from the Saranac Lake Airport (about 14 degrees warmer when I checked) we're sitting at 31 degrees with some freezing rain.
