The winds have died down and so have the temps. 28* with red oak in the stove. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I probably have more high quality, dry firewood than ever before. I'm looking forward to some cold weather to put it to use. Nothing serious in the 10 day.
50 with rain off and on. Some pine and ash doing the job. Was planning on clearing up some trees but with the current wind gusts, I think it's best to stay out of the woods.
60* going down to 27* yesterday it was the opposite. Got to love it. Elm making it a nice 70* inside.
55 and raining all day. I’d love for winter to settle in, but at least my heating demands are low. I’ve been nursing a red maple coal bed along for a couple hours now.
-3/90 Burning pine. Suppose to get colder tonight then warm up to the 20's and start snowing tomorrow afternoon. My ol' dog just came in from outside and is literally steaming in front of the fire.
34ish and going down to 24ish by 7am. I’m going to load up the Wood Gun later with Ash and a few Maple and Elm splits for the overnight.
47 out with gusts about 15-20. Let the fire go out earlier today and still have 74 inside. I'll light back up probably @ 1/2 time of the game.
38/75 headed to 22 overnight. Windy today, was out today trying to scare up a deer to my hunting partner. Rain and wind kicked up for about 15 minutes, rain blowing against my cheek so hard it was stinging. Have some cherry cruising along in the Buck.
Not too bad , easy to heat the house in these temperatures, as you all know it gets more complicated when it gets really cold. 28 °F out now they say Low tonight 21 °F , no snow here now. But the snow will come 72 °F in the stove room right now 70°F in the other end of the house, runnin on coals
It's more complicated for me in this semi-shoulder season weather. My add-on wood furnace makes it too hot inside when the out temps are about 50ish. When it's cold I can open the draft a little and keep the door glass clean, so I much prefer that. Bring that dang cold to freeze up this mud!
34°/74° red oak, ash and tulip poplar in the fireview. Low of 24° tonight, I had to let the house cool down I got overzealous with the heat earlier.
28/66. After letting the fire go out midday yesterday, when I went to bed at midnight it was still 71 inside. Decided to forgo making one and woke to 66 degrees. Just lit up with 3 splits of chestnut oak and 3 of walnut.
