It’s a chilly 19 here this AM. 72 inside, burning more chestnut oak w/ one split of walnut in there too.
47 and really breezy here. Supposed to be 55 this afternoon then drop continuously until Sunday AM. I loaded the last of the really soft pieces of wood in the boiler....that stuff doesn't last long at all...but heat is heat and it was free.
36 F here this evening. Was burning Pine all day. Not much heat demand after noon. Just loaded Wood Gun with some soft Maple and a little Elm. Should be good till morning. I think we are at the coldest point of the overnight.
Got up to 60 here so no fire. High of 45 tomorrow so it'll be back to the normal red oak & hickory. Mike in Okla
Currently sitting at -25 C/-13 F, but feels -35 to -40 C with the wind. Wife is not as hardy as me, so pine in the reactor with a helping hand from the oil furnace.
Winds began last night at 11:00. Not gradually, just started strong and stayed strong all night! 12 now but it feels 5 below zero with the wind. The dogs did their business outside rather quickly at 4:00 this morning!!! About 3" of fresh stuff overnight so far.
