25 out. Low today was supposed to be 36 !!! Ended up with 6" of snow yesterday and snowing right now !!! For the love of all that is innocent ,,,,, WHEN WILL IT END ?????!!!!!!! I'm used to this kind of winter living in the snow belt my whole life but by now we are frequently seeing high 40's and 50's here and there. I don't think we've seen 50 yet !!!
We had 9.5 this morning, another night of Cherry. We might get 3-6 inches of snow after we get rain, things will be a mess.
0c and pretty heavy freezing rain right now with elm in the T5 Should be a fun drive to town this morning.
50 °F right now , High today 68 °F , just lookin at the ashes Not done burnin though Friday night Low: 25 °F
About 22ºF here. Dead Pine burning in the boiler. Should be 55-60º this afternoon. Rain tonight. The extended forecast into the middle of next week still doesn't look that warm.
It was 22.7 this morning, more Cherry. We're sitting above 60 today so the Liberty is getting a rest.
Shut down yesterday morning, sounds like a re fire tomorrow night as the week end is supposed to cool down again....................
+13c = 55f right now and the fire is out for the first time since fall but supposed to get pretty cool again this weekend.
The temperatures surely yo-yo at this time of year. I feel for you Dave. Am hoping we don't see daytime highs in the 20's anymore this winter...err, excuse me, Spring. AS Rotti and Loon have said, the forecast is for snow and rain most days in the coming week. Just a few sunny days, of which today is turning out to be one. Supposed to cloud over and rain then snow....
I lied!! just raked the coals and not gonna let it go cold as its supposed to be negative again tonite.
I'll be burning a fire tonight for the first time in probably a week. It's Easter weekend, and while its 43 out now, it may get to about 30, and I've got a couple nights worth of wood yet for this year. It was mid 60s and beautiful yesterday after it rained a decent amount in the am.
We had 37 this morning, we burned 1 bag of pellets last night, we'll do the same tonight. I think we hit 57 today, hopefully next weekend I can get my arse going on the firewood, we still have enough snow in the lane to the woods that it would be tough going.
I lit my fire at 5 pm. It's now 32° out, 70° inside. Burning elm, and ash. The ash is the stuff I measured at 18.7% a few days ago. I'd rather let this stuff go for next year, but there's more than I can burn in a couple fires. No hissing at all from the ash. So that means the new moisture meter is reading correctly.
Fired up right after supper. Supposed to be down to 15-20 by morning with a inch of snow, and a high of 32 tomorrow. Next couple of days will be fire weather.
Stove was cold yesterday , no fire last night went down to 40 , woke up to 59 in the house , so I loaded up some chunky monkeys, I'll put in a mix of elm and sugar for tonight's low of 24. 47 tomorrow
Had a small fire last night. House stayed above 66 all day. Just lit another small fire a while ago. It's suddenly raining pretty hard. I can hear the rain coming off the roof. I hope I won't need a fire during the day tomorrow, but we're supposed to get 6 cm of snow tonight and tomorrow morning, then cloudy....so, if there isn't much sun will likely need a fire. Looking forward, it is supposed to be below freezing every night this coming week.
Didn't get much snow overnight Sherwood and supposed to go up to +4c later with sun. -4c now with elm in the box.
