29° at home. Another mixed load with 3 long splits of white birch running east-west, 2 red oak shorties running north-south, and 1 small piece of black locust thrown in front and center.
19 this morning. Wind doesn't know if it wants to blow or not. Getting some warm temps beginning tomorrow. 4 days with highs in the 40's.
17/72. Burning a few more pieces of bark till I leave for work and the days reload, which will be chestnut oak.
I never enjoyed being in the woods when the winds were strong. Thats when mother nature does her pruning.
Same here. I have one deer blind where there is no danger and that is where I hunt if I go out on windy days. Of course, I still have to walk in the woods to get there...
Cooling down here now with the temperature currently at around 40f. Just loaded up some oak for overnight.
63* here now. No fire and a welcome break from the cold. Old man winter will return with a vengeance though. Mike in Ok
41F dropping towards freezing by tomorrow morning. Seasonably chilly temperatures in store for the next week+. I don’t mind the extended shoulder season, but man oh man I go through a lot of kindling this way Mulberry and red oak in the Lopi tonight.
Cold front coming in tomorrow but next week still looks promising for some nice weather. Haven't had a fire for a few days now but that's okay with me. Brought up a few more loads of wood with 2 being some rotted out, light as a feather, basswood I think. Been split and stacked for a few years now but hasn't gotten any worse even though I never top covered it.
