50 out when I got up and 69 in. No fire today with temps supposed to go up to 75, which is near record territory for here.
Still hanging a few degrees belows freezing here...with a light dusting of snow and ice pellets from overnight. Apparently waiting on a dirty dump of snow headed up from Montana. We're stuck below freezing now until spring, and actually we'll be below normal for temps shortly in that -10 to -20 C range (-4 to 12? F ballpark). Yuck.
We're at 40.5 tonight with a forecast low of 35, I'm just burning down some cookies with a load of pine splits going in later, it's 70 up here.
48/68. Just loaded up with big ol’ splits of prime chestnut oak. Won’t be going cold tonight! Lows expected @45.
Is it hitting you yet? We had it pass over us giving a good dump over night. I measured around 10 inches by the time it let up this morning. -5c/23f right now. Cold weather coming here as well but apparently we will get hit with a one day warm up on Friday. We will see. Doug fir and larch in the box.
Winds picked up yesterday late afternoon and continued all night/early morning. Good news is the temps are 56 now! Cloudy heading for mid 60's today.
60 this morning with a high of 73 today. Cooler weather moving in tomorrow so I guess it will be time to get a fire going tomorrow morning.
Currently 62 and Sunny no fires yet! Added some insulation what a return on that this year! house is over 70 and windows are still being opened in afternoons..
No. It's fun ! And fairly easy on my knee. Good exercise, gets the heart pumpin and is quieter. Sides, who doesn't like swinging a great axe that's Sharp.
Understood. I did it for many years and I enjoyed it before an injury forced me into hydraulics. I might split half a dozen a year now but have to take easy swings. And yes, I did most of my splitting with an axe that I kept sharp. Now I don't even do much with hydraulics as a wonderful group of guys and gals come here every spring and do most of the work for me.
High yesterday of +19°F Windy with gusts over 50 mph. A mix of fks and aspen keeping things warm Currently +8° F. Gotta get out and get them panels installed on the chicken coop
We got about 4 inches of snow and ice pellets, and rain followed and shrunk it... Then we got another 2-3 inches of snow, so 3-5 inches depending where you're standing in the yard. Apparently more snow starting Saturday and ending Thursday. Not looking forward to that lol
It got to 78f here the last 2 days, today I think it topped out at 45F. Now it’s 37F and I’m lighting the first fire of the season. River birch mostly, with a little hackberry and elm for awhile.
