We had 24.5 this morning, we still had coals from the four splits of ash on the bottom row last night with pine up top, we went with a full load of pine this morning. The wife had another fire before I came back in and the house was 71 feeling like 80. This morning the house was 68.
40 outside currently, going down to mid 30's tonight. House is a comfortable 70. I am burning mostly ash and sugar maple, with a few red oak odds and ends. Happy Friday to everyone and I hope you have a nice weekend.
Accu is calling for a low of 27, we're at 31.3 tonight. The temp in the basement is 77 heading up, the temp up here is 71. I loaded the Liberty with pine tonight.
46 now and it is also the overnight low so far. Nice! The next 5 days are sunny and in the low 60's!!! I'm glad winter was so short this year.
32/75. Checked the fire this morning and I have a 12” stack of chestnut oak splits sitting in there pumping out btu’s. That’s probably 8hrs after loading it.
Weather still holding out for the time being, a few degrees below freezing at night, and a couple more days of +10-12 C (low 50's ) weather before she nosedives, and the snow stays for good. Poplar stubbies and slab cut offs keeping the shack warm.
We had 30 for an outside temp this morning with the basement at 72....up here was 69. We had a fire this morning and the wife had started one before I came in, it's 72 up here at the moment. We did put in a few loads of pine this morning.
Here too… minus that partial week of the Indian Summer that we had a couple weeks ago…. Perfect weather to work outside…. Got the front door open letting fresh air in…. Sitting at 66F outside.. Absolutely beautiful day here….
48 and dropping towards freezing by dawn. Just a small fire going at the moment to keep the chill away. One thin split of red oak with a split of sassafras above it.
It is nice out. Was able to score 2 pickup loads plus 1 16' dump trailer load of maple. A lot of rot in it but should still get some great wood.
It's 34.5 tonight with the basement temp at 73, the temp up here is 71. The liberty has a load of pine going, once the basement temp hits 77, I'll shut the fan off for the night.
We finally broke into the 20s here for the first time this season. 28 and burning a mixed load of sassafras, elm skinnies, and one hefty split of red oak.
It's been mostly hanging out in the single digits. Snowed about 2" today. Light and fluffy dry snow . And it's cool enough the snow is somewhat squeeky. Mostly fire killed spruce in the stove but also burning some aspen that's not fully dry. It's been outside for a year and a half. But Friday I brought up a jet sled load of aspen and a little birch I chopped this past summer. Some of it is very dry . Even stuff that didn't get split. I theroize it's due to the much greater exposed wood than with saw cut rounds.
