54/68. Going to 61 and sunny. No fire. Had a very small fire last evening of pine, box elder and scraps. Just because. Looks like I'll get through october burning less than a face cord.

48 already heading for a (maybe) wet 60 for the high. Mid-60's for the weekend so should get off my rear and get some wood pulled up. Also have a tree service that's taking down another silver maple and we can have the wood. Lefty is tied up, but I will see how many loads I can acquire.

Weve been having damp days with fall winds and a bit of snow here and there but ground is currently bare. Temps just below and just above freezing. The damp fall weather along with the wind sure drives the chills into me. Burning daily.

It’s 26 degrees here. Burning Doug Fir and Aspen in the Oslo. Got about 6” of snow today. It will be chilly tonight.

Currently +9°F. Winds calm. Lightly spitting snow. Fire killed white and black spruce in the stove. Pretty well closed down.
Got another wall framed on the chicken coop/work shop today and got the one interior wall more than half framed. Having to do snow removal on the build. And having to beat, chip, scrape snow and ice off Every board , really slows down progress. But it's coming along. All exterior walls are up I get the interior wall up , then I can put the roof beam in place. Then put all the insulated metal panels on the walls and roof. It will be built and insulated.
I'm hoping I can get it all buttoned up and the woodstove installed before it gets cold.
I think the chickens would prefer I do.

35 outside. Supposed to get near 60 today. Good for an early morning fire. Think I’ll have my son throw on a chunk before he goes to school.

Warming house up with pine, ash, black cherry. It will be a beautiful morning to be in the woods. Too bad I have that pesky work thing getting in the way.

I spoke with some people on the west slope and they said it was wet heavy cement type of snow. Did you get the same or had it cooled off enough to be a "regular" snow?

It was pretty heavy stuff. But not the concrete type. We do get a couple of those every season though. Good for the grass - hard to shovel.

I got a fire going this morning but I don't need to keep it going. My wife is baking some winter squash in the oven so that should help keep the house warm. She fixes a number of them at one time so she can put a bunch of it in the freezer. YUM
