We got 1/4" yesterday but need so much more. 45 out now and so far, no fires for the season.

Crazy overnight low of 60. That is July weather. But they say that will also be our high today and expect to be in the 40's this afternoon. Yet, no real cold predicted and 60 again by the weekend.

40's this morning... lit a fire with some silver maple to take the coolness out of the house...

Morning folks. We had mid 40's this morning, but the house was still 75 from the overnight fire.

Also still having only one off chunkie fires... last one was a couple days ago. Have not touched our full-sized splits yet. I'm liking that we'll get into November without burning continuously at all.

And, to top it off, me thinks me got another potential firewood scrounge... at a very close location! It's been a very nice Fall!

62 out, 68 in. Just lit off 2 splits of chestnut oak, a split of maple and some scraps I have laying around.

It is on! 22/23 season underway! Fired it up and switched the thermostats. Running in the sixties daylight and forties at night.

maple and beech, with a sprinkling of chunks, scrap limbs, and tree felling wedges. One of my favorite things with the outdoor boiler is burning what otherwise is unusable in other applications.

Currently 16°F . Winds mostly calm snowing lightly. Got a couple rounds of 1 1/2 year cut aspen half burned and 1 each fire killed white spruce and fk black spruce on top of them . We've had some more single digit below 0 F . Today it got up to +20 above.
It has been a good start to winter. Mild ! Only 4+ " of snow accumulation.
Had our well drilled last Friday. Which went very well Thank God !!
At 140' we get 45 gallons per minute of Delicous water.

Presently 33 outside, 80 inside. No fire left in stove but may have to start it again before the day is done.

Started my stove back up last night with the overnights getting cold again. Put a couple white oak chunks in before leaving this morning. Still had a good bed of coals from last night to get it going. 33 outside this morning and scheduled to get to low 50s today

Yep. Woke to 77 inside. Wife told me she had the chills all day so I didn’t want her to feel cold. It’s ok though, I’m traveling today for work so I won’t be home.
Rental place gave me a free upgrade to a 21 Nissan Maxima. 300hp. Just hope I get home w/o a speeding ticket.
