Yup. 15 miles Northish of me. No beer in that dry town though. I always have to BYOB when I visit my pal that lives there.
11 degrees here this morning!! Mid 60's a day ago. Wild weather swings for sure. Still burning hickory and cherry here and probably will be all weekend.
14 out 78 in. Whew its toasty ! Light snow in the air. Got about 2" since Thursday nite. This is when I like the lake froze over. No big snow dumps but it will prolly be colder than the granite bawlz of the Lincoln Memorial till July 4th !
We had a little of that yesterday Stinny. One of my daughters lives in S.C. She told me the other day it was going to be close to 80.
An inch of fresh snow on the ground and still snowing heavily. Load of soft maple in the stove to get the chill out of the house... KaptJaq
Wow... what a turn of spring... Snow??? We had snow flurries lastnight...Had to pull some wood out this morning, kinda of chilly in the house this morn. But its starting to warm up now....
We had a low of 14 this morning, I never used the Ironwood last night so we'll use it tonight. They're calling for 2-4 inches of snow, we love this spring weather!
Mid teens expected for tonight after that the forecast looks more like spring. Upper 40's low 50's for the daytime with lows in the lower 30's at night. Even shows a low 60 days mixed in! I'm ready to wrap this winter up. We really don't have much of a spring in Michigan we go from winter to summer in a few days so I'm hopeful that will happen soon.
21F this morning. Going all the way up to 32F today and back into the upper teens tonight. Add in a brisk 15-20mph breeze and it feels like January. Sure would be nice if this winter would head back to the North Pole where it belongs. I dipped into some of next years oak. Probably isn't quite as dry as I would like but it will throw a lot more heat than the ash and walnut I've been using the last couple weeks.
I remember last March well. Cold. And by the time it was over, and the warmer weather started, it was a big relief to start burning just a short fire or two a day during the real shoulder season. By April I was really tired of burning and stopped all together at the end of that month. I don't think I will be burning until the end of April this year.
Our forecast is for below freezing just about every night until the end of April. Unfortunately, I expect to be burning for a while yet. Fortunately, am burning a lot less wood than in February.
Thanks to my stupidity, my wife is still burning maple in Ole' Betty. I'm in the same boat as Sherwood..............
16 degrees at the moment so we have Cherry in the Liberty, tonight I will be burning some Ironwood. Tomorrow I'll cover some of this years shoulder season wood, might need it if mother nature keeps playing.....
Barely hit 32 degrees before the sun went down and headed back into the teens tonight. Got a few pieces of pine in now and then loading oak for tonight. The cold temps just won't let up.....
Some nice Shagbark Hickory burning as required for this cold, damp, late March night. Smells great. Wish I had a flank steak marinated to grill in the basket
28F here.... On the almost last bit of white oak from the stack. 74F inside, upstairs, had to shed the sweat shirt down here in the basement at the stove. Hard to believe the back porch thermometer (in direct sun) read 80F on Thursday, at 9 am! Snowed a bit last nite into this morning. Crazy fweakin' Spring weather EVW
